Rooted in traditional Irish music, Gerard's upbringing is rich with familial ties to renowned musicians. Beyond composing, he excels in playing uilleann pipes and whistles, boasting numerous All Ireland titles. His contributions extend to directing Irish music shows, including the acclaimed production "Tara."
In recent collaborations with Michael Flatley, Gerard played a pivotal role in composing the music for "Lord of the Dance Dangerous Games," receiving acclaim in Europe and Broadway. The album also holds a deeply personal track, "Bridie's Road Home," a tribute to his late mother, Bridie, a pivotal figure in his musical journey. This piece, recorded with the Macedonian Concert Orchestra, stands as a testament to Gerard's emotional and artistic depth.
